Services set for Palmerton stabbing victim

Funeral services have been announced for the man stabbed early Saturday morning in Palmerton.

Memorial services for Jeffrey P. Beagle are set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at Campton Funeral Home, 525 Delaware Ave., Palmerton, Call from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in funeral home.

Police were called to his home on Lehigh Avenue on Saturday morning because of a domestic incident. Police found Jeffrey Beagle 48, lying on the steps in the home. His brother, Jonathan Beagle, 38, has been charged.

Jeffrey Beagle was employed by the Carbon Mini Mart (Sunoco), Palmerton, and also by Palmerton Tobacco. He attended Grace Community Church in Lansford.

The employees at the Carbon minimart are having a balloon release tonight to help raise money for funeral expenses. The event will be held in the Country Harvest parking lot at 9:30 p.m. Balloons are $3.

According to his obituary, Jeffrey enjoyed videos, cartoons, playing guitar, reading, swimming at Palmerton Memorial Park, grocery shopping, fishing, and listening to heavy metal music. Jeffrey enjoyed caring for and spending time with his dog, Billy. He was a kind soul and was willing to help anyone.

He was a son of the late John Beagle and Mrs. Louise (Provost) Beagle with whom he resided.

In addition to his mother, survivors include a brother, Richard E. and wife Bobbie of Lehighton, one niece, three nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
