STATE POLICE AT FERN RIDGE

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following arrests made by troopers:

• On July 2 at 4:45 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop along Interstate 80 westbound in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, due to the operator, identified as Ronney Bernacet, 25, of Wilkes-Barre, having an active warrant for his arrest. The initially pulled over and then began to flee the scene at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.

Another warrant was issued for his arrest. Bernacet’s whereabouts is currently unknown.

• A traffic stop was conducted on July 2 at 11:11 p.m. along Neola Road at Bartonsville Woods Road, in Jackson Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. The driver, a 50-year-old man from Saylorsburg, who troopers declined to identify, was found under the influence of an alcohol and a controlled substance. He was also found in possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the county prison in Snydersville for processing. Charges will be filed.

• On July 8 at 1:22 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted along Route 209 at Dairy Lane, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, for a vehicle code violation. The driver, a 47-year-old man from Blakeslee, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also found to have in his possession multiple controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody with charges will be filed.

• Troopers said on July 7 at 3:13 p.m. they were dispatched to a residence along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township for a report of a domestic disturbance. On scene troopers learned that was an altercation between a 54-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man, both of Jim Thorpe. The woman said the man had thrown multiple items throughout the house before pushing her to the ground. Troopers noted multiple broken items in the home.

The man, who troopers declined to identify, was charged with harassment - physical contact.

• State police at Fern Ridge said Christopher Groner, 54, of Bloomsburg, was cited for simple assault. He was involved in a verbal argument with a 35-year-old female from Lake Harmony on July 6 at 2:21 p.m. at Sunoco station along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township. The victim reported injury to her left shoulder and left knee in the incident.

• A 46-year-old woman from Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, reported two bracelets, with total value of $2,145 and an empty Rolex box valued at $250 were taken from her home sometime between June 1 and 15.
