FT, NV in Connie Mack state playoffs

Franklin Township and Northern Valley have both qualified for this year’s Pennsylvania Connie Mack state playoffs.

The double-elimination tournament, which features six teams from both the Lehigh Valley League and the Bux-Mont League, begins Thursday. All games will be held at Limeport Stadium.

Northern Valley will be competing in the first game of the tourney. The Chargers, the sixth-seeded team from LV, will take on the No. 5 seed from Bux-Mont - Harleysville - in a 5 p.m. contest.

Franklin Township is the Lehigh Valley’s No. 4 seed and won’t start its quest for a state title until Friday. FT faces Pennridge, the No. 3 seed from Bux-Mont, in a 5 p.m. contest.

The other Lehigh Valley teams in the tournament include Northwest Bethlehem, Moore Township, South Parkland and Central Catholic.

The winners and losers from Thursday and Friday will return to action on Saturday and Sunday, when four games are scheduled each day. The top two seeds from both leagues received byes in the opening round.
