State police at Lehighton are investigating a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 2:05 p.m. July 15 along Frable Drive in Eldred Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said a 1998 Toyota Camry was driven westbound at a high rate of speed when the vehicle left the road and hit a ditch along the berm. The vehicle continued uncontrollably into the opposite lane of travel, then struck a tree along the berm where it came to rest.

The driver the scene. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and was towed.

The investigation is continuing.
