Bethlehem hosts food event July 22-24

Bethlehem’s new event, the Fest of the Seven Fishes, will lure seafood lovers to the Christmas City.

It’s the downtown community’s latest effort to make up for losses restaurants suffered during pandemic shutdowns.

“If these pandemic waves wash out our local restaurants, then the whole community will sink. So, we needed to help them hook more customers,” said Downtown Bethlehem Association Manager Tammy Wendling. “Since Bethlehem, or ‘Fest-lehem’ as we like to say, is well known for its festivals, we decided to add a new one that fits in nicely with our Christmas in July themed events all over town.”

The Fest of the Seven Fishes is a three-day event with a unique take on the popular Feast of the Seven Fishes.

From July 22-24, guests can taste their way through Downtown Bethlehem. Participating restaurants will offer a variety of culturally diverse dishes.

Paella inspired meals, specialty fish tacos, fun fritters, and delicate platings are among the dishes from some of Bethlehem’s most popular eateries.

The special menu offerings are posted on the Historic Downtown Bethlehem website.

An Extra Splash of Fun

On July 24, guests will experience even more merriment. Santa is coming to town and several restaurants will offer additional grab-and-go items so you can easily enjoy your feast while you stroll through town taking in the Christmas in July window displays.

Wendling said, “Summertime is the perfect season for an event like this because a lot of people are thinking of beaches and delicious seafood. It’s a great finish to the Christmas in July celebration.”

Fest of The Seven Fishes Participants include, Casa del Mofongo, Tapas on Main, Urbano Mexican Kitchen & Bar, Historic Hotel Bethlehem, Twisted Olive, McCarthy’s Red Stag Pub & Whiskey Bar and Edge Restaurant.
