Tamaqua Police Log

Tamaqua police reported on the following incidents:

• On June 25 at 9:05 p.m. police received a call from Robert Knepper, 60, of Brown St., Tamaqua, that his brother, Greg Knepper, 55, of Greenwood St., Tamaqua, was harassing and threatening him in the area of 5 N. Lehigh St. On scene Robert Knepper said he was going through trash at Our Family Mini Mart when his brother hit him on the head with the trash can lid. A neighbor witnessed the incident and claimed Greg Knepper started the incident.

Police then told both parties to leave the area and stay away from each other.

Later police checked video cameras and as a result both men were cited for violating a borough ordinance - digging through garbage.

• On June 30 at 11:06 a.m. an officer was timing speed in the 300 block of Owl Creek Road when a Honda came through the area clocked at 50 mph in a 35 zone. A vehicle stop was made and the driver identified as Anthony Pasco, 35, of Greenwood St., Tamaqua.

It was learned that Pasco did not have a license and that there was an warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Pottsville on the warrant. He was also cited for speeding and driving without a license.
