Adult Day Care

The Tamaqua Area Adult Day Care Center Board of Directors met on June 22. Our client membership continues to grow. Our clients have access to hairdressing every Monday. Our clients have a variety of group activities each day or can just spend free time enjoying single activities (reading, TV, jigsaw). Our aides are the best. The center is having an open house to give the public a chance to visit our center and see the wonderful facility we have for our clients. Tentative date for the open house is Oct. 17, 1-4 p.m. Plan on attending. Baked goods, soft drinks and water will be available.

On Oct. 20, Boscov’s will donate 25% of sales to the center on purchases made between 1-4 p.m. Our next takeout dinner fundraiser will be sometime in September. Catered by A&C Catering, the meals have been well-received by our supporters. Thank you in advance for your continued support. We will report the date next month. The center will switch to Meals on Wheels for our food service provider. This food service switch has been delayed due to the provider having staffing issues. We expect to start serving Meals on Wheels in September. Veterans Affairs is now actively providing financial aid to clients who have served in the armed forces. Call the center at 570-668-6556 for questions or information.
