Carbon County court — DUI

Thirteen defendants in pending driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas on Friday in Carbon County court.

Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted pleas from the following:

Joseph Bruce Harrisson, 33, of Weatherly, pleaded to two counts of DUI in two incidents. He was arrested on Oct. 23, 2020, along Lehigh Drive in Palmerton by state police at Lehighton; and then on Feb. 27 by Weatherly police along Pane Street after being involved in a crash. In both cases he was charged with DUI of a controlled substance.

Sentencing was deferred so he can apply for placement in the house arrest program.

Robert Tyler Arnold, 33, of Jessup, Lackawanna County, pleaded in two pending cases. He was arrested on March 6, 2019, by state police at Fern Ridge along Smith Road in Penn Forest Township; and on June 15, 2019, again by state police along Forest Lake Drive, in Penn Forest Township. Both for DUI of a controlled substance.

He was placed in the Restrictive Conditions of Probation program (house arrest), for six months on the first count with the first 10 days on electronic monitoring. On the second count he was placed in the program for 60 months with the first 90 days on electronic monitoring, concurrent with the first count. He was also ordered to pay total fines of $2,500, license suspensions of 30 months and 100 hours of community service. On a summary careless driving charge he was fined $25.

Raymond Anthony Pillonato, 57, of Weatherly, was arrested on Sept. 4, 2019, by state police at Lehighton along Route 93 in Nesquehoning. A test revealed a 0.12 BAC.

He was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.

Andrew George Kyriakopoulos, 30, of Allentown, was arrested on Aug. 22, 2020, along Route 248 at Parryville by state police at Lehighton. He was charged with DUI of a controlled substance. He refused a test.

Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Christopher Hackett-Jacinthe, 29, of Lehighton, was arrested on Oct. 10, 2018, by Lehighton police along Bankway, for DUI of a controlled substance.

He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service. He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on Friday.

Todd A. Daldos, 52, of Lansford, was arrested on March 6 by state police at Lehighton along Route 443 in Lehighton, for DUI of a controlled substance. He refused a test.

He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000 and a one-year license suspension. He begins the jail term at 9 a.m. Friday.

Sara Hargreaves, 32, of Lansford, was arrested on July 9, 2020, by Lansford police along Ridge Street, for DUI of a controlled substance.

She was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, license suspended for a year and render 25 hours of community service.

Her plea was made via video from the county prison where she is an inmate on other charges.

Cassandra L. Ohl, 29, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on March 3 by state police at Lehighton along Walnut Avenue in Jim Thorpe. A test revealed a 0.13 BAC.

She was placed on probation for six months and ordered to pay a fine of $300 and render 25 hours of community service.

Timothy W. Higgins, 44, of Effort, was arrested on Sept. 4, 2018, by state police at Fern Ridge along Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township, for DUI of a controlled substance.

Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation.

William Cannon, 23, of Coaldale, was arrested on Jan. 18, 2020, by Beaver Meadows police along Broad Street for DUI of a controlled substance.

He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, a fine of $1,000, one year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.

He was given credit for three days already served and paroled.

Jason Michael Boyle, 27, of Palmerton, was arrested on Sept. 5, 2020, by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Franklin Township, for DUI of a controlled substance. A charge of possession of a controlled substance was dropped in a plea deal with the district attorney’s office.

Sentencing was deferred so he can obtain a drug and alcohol evaluation and also apply for the house arrest program.

James Valenti, 51, of Kingston, Luzerne County, was arrested on June 27, 2020, by state police at the Pocono barracks along the northeast extension of the turnpike in Penn Forest Township, for DUI of a controlled substance.

He was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, one-year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service.

He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on July 16.

Sentenced

Sean Patrick Frost, 36, of Old Forge, Lackawanna County, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in jail, pay a fine of $1,000, one year license suspension and render 25 hours of community service. He previously pleaded guilty to the charge.

He was arrested on Sept. 25, 2020, by state police at Lehighton along Route 209 in Towamensing Township, for DUI of a controlled substance.

He will begin the jail term at 9 a.m. on July 16.

Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on probation/parole and follow any recommendation of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
