Palmerton swim team to hold fundraiser

The Palmerton Summer Swim Team is once again holding their annual Swim Challenge Fundraiser.

This year’s challenge is “Porpoises for a Purpose” and will raise funds to benefit the Palmerton Swim Team as well as four local fire departments. The event will be held at the Palmerton Memorial Pool on this Thursday from noon to 8 p.m.

The team’s goal is to raise $5,000 to benefit Palmerton Municipal Fire Company, Bowmanstown Fire Company, Aquashicola Fire Company and Towamensing Fire Company.

Swimmers have set their lap totals and secured pledges to sponsor their swimming.

Additional donations will be accepted at the pool on the day of the challenge and can also be submitted by mail to Palmerton Swim Team, P.O. Box 264 Palmerton, PA 18071.
