July 7, 1965 - The pitching of Bud Donald and the bat of Bill Luksavage lift Tamaqua to a 2-1 victory over Freeland in a Greater Hazleton Legion contest. Donald finishes with a two-hitter in the eight-inning game, allowing just a single run in the third frame. Luksavage blasts a solo homer in the top of the eighth to snap a 1-1 tie before Donald closes it out in the home half. Paul Long collects two hits and scores a run for the winners, while Tony Pajakinas adds a double. Tamaqua also receives hits from Ed Brode and Don Scheitrum.
