As of 11 p.m. PPL Utilities was reporting more than 8,000 without power as a result of violent storms moving through the area.

Carbon County has 156 customers out, with 115 out in Kidder Township and 41 in Penn Forest Township.’

Monroe County has 3,192 customers without power, with 1,453 out in Chestnuthill.

In Lehigh Township, Northampton County, 46 customers are out.

Met-Ed is reporting more than 5,000 without power in Monroe County, with 787 affected in Ross Township.
