West Penn Township begins recycling program

West Penn Township started its recycling program on Thursday for township residents only. Volunteer worker Fred Gimbi, left, talks to resident Terry Miller about the recycling program policies. The recycling site, located at the West Penn Fire Company, is open Monday-Friday with staggered hours throughout the week. Residents must show identification or proof of residency upon drop-off. West Penn supervisors wasted no time implementing a plan for its residents in January after Schuylkill County ended its countywide program. JUSTIN CARLUCCI/TIMES NEWS
