Local roundup: Results from June 30

Franklin Township picked up another win in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack play on Wednesday.

Elsewhere, Tamaqua Blue earned a win in the District 18 8-10-year-old Little League Tournament.

Franklin Twp.-N. Parkland

Franklin Township rolled to its 10th straight win, blasting North Parkland 17-5 in a Lehigh Valley Connie Mack contest.

Aiden Rarick and Ian Rarick each had two hits, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored for Franklin, which now has 12 wins on the season. Adam Bastone had two hits, including a triple, with two runs scored and an RBI, Cameron Gable (double) also had two hits. Brady O’Donnell and Talan Sensinger both had a hit, with three RBIs and three runs scored in the win.

Franklin will look to continue its run Friday night at home against Moore Township.

Northern Vy,-Emmaus

Emmaus picked up a 16-10 win over Northern Valley in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack action.

Zachary McEllroy doubled among his four hits, and drove in three while also scoring a pair of runs for Emmaus. Haven Tarbox finished with three hits, two RBIs and a pair of runs scored, and Katsey collected four hits with three RBIs and a pair of runs scored. Muckey (three runs scored, RBI), Brandon Leader (two RBIs, two runs scored) and Brian Merk (two runs scored) all had two hits apiece for Emmaus.

Zach Russo was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs scored for Northern Valley, while John Meltsch added two hits and scored a run. Bobby Croneberger and Josh Lichman both doubled, while Wesley George collected a triple for the Chargers.

Southern Lehigh posted a 16-6 win over Jim Thorpe in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack action.

Blake Greenwald was 2-for-4 with three RBIs ans four runs scored for Southern Lehigh, while Patty Laughlin added two hits, scored twice and knocked in a pair of runs. Michael O’Neil also had two hits and scored twice, while Jack Massey tripled and drove in a pair of runs.

Chip Baldassano (RBI), Rich Strack (triple), Jack Edwards, Nick Pantages (double, RBI), Braden McHugh and Aidan Sterling (double, RBI) all had hits for Jim Thorpe.

Tamaqua Blue pounded out 24 hits in a 29-9 win over Tamaqua White in the District 18 8-10-year-old tournament.

Bryce Eltringham was 5-for-6 with six RBIs and a run scored for the Blue squad. Mason Evans had four hits, scored six times ans drove in three runs, while Jaedon Vidzicki also had four hits with three RBIs and four runs scored. Chayse Smith and Chayse Barron had three hits apiece, and John Kovatch added a pair of hits.

C. Markovec doubled with an RBI and a run scored for the White team.

Whitehall-Carbon

Whitehall rolled to a 17-2 win over the Carbon Monarchs in a Lehigh Valley Legion contest.

Zak Hartman (three RBIs, two runs scored), Owen Ness (two runs scored, RBI) and Bryce Bashore (double, two RBIs, run scored) both had three hits apiece for Whitehall. Matt Snyder (RBI, run scored), Ayden Dunbar (two doubles, three RBIs, two runs scored) and Sammy Castillo (three runs scored) all had two hits apiece in the 18-hit outburst.

Randy Bongiorno and David Berger had two hits and an RBI for Carbon.
