A former Carbon County woman was sentenced this week in the county court in three criminal cases in which she previously entered guilty pleas.
Leianni Crawford, 34, of Philadelphia, and formerly of Summit Hill and Lansford, had pleaded to one count each of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a small amount of marijuana and neglect of animals.
She was arrested on the DUI and endangering counts on Jan. 16, 2019, by Lansford police along Patterson Street. She had a child in the car. She was arrested on the neglect count on Jan. 7, 2019, by Lansford police when she abandoned a dog in the 400 block of East Abbott Street. The dog was in poor health and had not been fed. The drug count occurred on Jan. 13, 2019, when police went to her then home in Summit Hill to served a warrant and smelled marijuana coming from the residence.
On the DUI count, she was sentenced to serve 72 hours to five years in jail, pay a fine of $1,500, license suspended for 18 months and follow all recommendations of her drug and alcohol evaluation. She was given credit for 51 days already served and paroled.
On the endangering charge she was placed on probation for two years; on the neglect of animals count placed on probation for a year; and on the small amount of marijuana count fined $100. All the terms run concurrently.
She must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
