June 25, 1987 - Nine players from the Times News area participate in the 17th annual Lehigh Valley All-Star Football Game at Nazareth’s Andrew Leh Stadium. The East Penn Conference uses a pair of touchdowns from Northampton’s Bob Solderich to produce an 18-7 victory over the Centennial/Colonial League all-stars. Those from the area competing in the contest include Lehighton’s Steve Barilla, Mike Obert and Jeff Hager; Palmerton’s Matt Guedes and B.J. Nalesnik; Northwestern’s Andre Hodge, Dave Leiby and George Hlavac; and Pleasant Valley’s Bob Papcsy.
