The Carbon Monarchs and Berlinsville Braves both suffered one-run losses in baseball action Thursday.

LV LEGION

Salisbury-Carbon Monarchs

Salisbury pushed across five runs in the sixth inning and then held off a Carbon rally in the bottom half to gain a 9-8 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over the Monarchs.

Trailing 5-4, Salisbury used a two-run double by Jonel Resto and RBI singles from Lucas Graver, Andrew Gredja and Nick Bergeman to take a four-run lead.

But Carbon countered, as Garrett Lienhard delivered an RBI double, Connor Rex drove home a run with a single, and Josh Mooney walked with the bases loaded. With the bases still loaded and one out, the Monarchs couldn’t get the tying run home as a pop out and pickoff ended the frame and the game.

Noah Snisky had two hits and knocked in a pair of runs for Carbon (2-5), while Mooney and Rex both finished with a couple hits and an RBI.
