Fourth celebration

The Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church family, Brodheadsville, is celebrating the Fourth of July at the church beginning at 6 p.m.

Blood drive set

Salem-St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kresgeville, is hosting a Miller-Keystone blood drive from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. July 11.

VBS announced

St. Matthew’s UCC, Kunkletown, has announced its 2021 Vacation Bible School.

Staci Gower, Coordinator of Christian Formation shares that Knights of North Castle VBS will be in session from 9 a.m. to noon daily the week of July 19-23.

The week will include Bible stories, crafts, science experiments, games and songs and a field trip to the Lehigh Valley Zoo, which will include a minimal fee.

Those participating are invited to worship the following Sunday to share what they have gleaned from the VBS experience.

PVAG announces

The Primetimers Ministry of Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, Brodheadsville, has announced that its Primetimers Ministry is beginning again in July.

The group, for those of the church 50 years and older, will be meeting every third Friday of the month at noon. Various activities are being planned for the fall season.

New church group

Effort UMC has a new church group named the Women’s Group of Effort. It is a rebirth of the former UMW, with a focus on local giving and support. It is open to all women of the church. There are no fees, or membership charges.

Dee Juris is chairperson; Jan Decker, secretary; Nita Nydham, treasurer; and Joyce Aylsworth, Sunshine Lady.

There will be no meetings in during June, July and August. The group’s next meeting will be at 7 p.m. Sept. 17.

A giving time

The PVEN food pantry and its clothing closet are hoping for help in preparing students for the back to school time in the fall.

Both units are asking for help in collecting certain supplies for the return to school.

Those items include backpacks, school supplies, school uniforms - both new and gently used - sneakers, new socks and underwear, personal care items including toothpaste, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner and body wash.

Supplies can be brought to PVEN’s Clothing Closet at 2338 Route 209, in Sciota.

FUSION coming

Middlecreek Christian Church has announced that FUSION is back, coming Aug. 7 and beginning at 2 p.m.

FUSION is a day of free music, food and ministry, all free.

The entire day is free, including all entertainment, food and beverages.

To help with costs, love offerings will be accepted any time during the event. The event is held outdoors in a beautiful West End setting.

There will be music throughout the day, times to unite in prayer, dinner, and a conclusion of the day with a movie and campfire Bible study.

And on Aug. 8, there is a closing service starting at 10:30 a.m. also being held outdoors.
