Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church, Lewistown Valley.

American Primitive

Sunday worship service at 10:30 a.m. at American Primitive Methodist Church. Service available at www.tamaquachurch.org and www.facebook.com/PMChurchTamaqua. There will be no Sunday school until further notice.

Hope in the Mountains Nar-Anon Family Group meets at 57 Hunter St. If you have questions or are interested in attending these meetings, contact Mark at 570-952-5098.

Calvary Lewistown

Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church will start summer worship services at Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road, Tamaqua this Sunday.

Pastor Saunders will have a Father’s Day message this week. Sunday school classes are scheduled for 9:15 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening service.

Upcoming activities include: June 23, Evening praise and prayer at 7 p.m.; Vacation Bible School will be held July 19-23 at Lewistown Valley Tabernacle. Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on June 10 at the Coaldale Complex with 31 members in attendance. The president opened the meeting with the reading “There’s No One But You Lord.”

Nancy Eisley, Lois Millet and Alice Tite were added to the sick list and prayers were requested for the presidents nephew.

Anyone 55 or older is invited to attend. The group meets every Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Coaldale Complex.

Lewistown Valley Tabernacle

Strawberry Social

The Culinary Crew of Zion Lutheran, Tamaqua is hosting an in-person strawberry social June 24 from 4 p.m. to sell out or 6:30 p.m. All are welcome.

The social is Culinary’s first in-person event in over a year. In addition to fresh strawberries served on cake with ice cream, the menu includes Coney Island burgers; hot dogs; pierogies; barbecue; potato, macaroni and pasta salads; chicken noodle soup; water; soda or coffee. Takeouts are available.

Zion Lutheran is located at the corner of Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets.

Telethon talent sought

Solo performers, duos and small groups are invited to participate in the Aug. 14-15 telethon benefiting the American Cancer Society.

The 2021 telethon returns to an all-live event airing from Penn’s Peak noon to midnight both days.
