State police at Schuylkill Haven investigate incidents

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported on incidents in Schuylkill County:

• Mark Pothering, 60, of Cressona, was cited for criminal mischief following an incident that occurred on June 7 at 11:30 a.m. along Brier City Road in Norwegian Township. Troopers said Pothering intentionally drove his vehicle, a 2005 Infiniti FX35, over a bicycle then fled the scene. Troopers said the bike was a Jet BMX valued at $140. The citation was filed against Pothering.

• James Thomas, 36, of Port Carbon, is facing a charge of criminal mischief for an incident on May 31 at 7:18 p.m. in the 300 block of Valley Street, Port Carbon.

Troopers said Thomas punched the driver’s side window of a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, driven by a 32-year-old man from Pottsville and owned by a 38-year-old man from Pottsville, damaging the window.

• On June 10 at 11:24 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2005 Chevrolet along Caroline Avenue at South Nicholas Street in Saint Clair. The driver, identified as David Turolis, 42, of Pottsville, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and was charged.

• On June 1 at 12:25 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop in the 300 block of Center Avenue in Schuylkill Haven, of a 2001 BMW 330C. The driver, identified as Michael Ingram, 36, of Birdsboro, Berks County, showed signs of impairment and was found in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

On June 2 at 12:23 p.m. troopers attempted to stop a 2004 Hartline travel trailer along Gordon Nagle Trail and Cressona Road in North Maheim Township for multiple traffic violations. The driver, identified as Michael Kurchock, 39, of Tremont, refused to stop and fled into Pottsville, where he was stopped by city police and taken into custody.

He is facing charges, including DUI of a controlled substance.
