State police at Fern Ridge are investigating a reported phone scam.

Troopers said a 78-year-old man from Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported he was contacted by a female caller stating she was a DirecTV representative offering 50 percent off his current monthly bill and access to premium channels promotion. She told the man he would have to get three Ebay gift cards totaling $510 and call 833-392-2173 to activate the promotion. Troopers said the investigation is continuing.
