Local Roundup: results from June 9

The Birches posted a victory over Hellertown in Norco Legion action on Wednesday night.



Brandon Ratti was dominant on the mound, and the Birches rolled to an 8-0 win over Hellertown in a NORCO Legion contest.

Ratti struck out 10, and allowed just two hits in a game that was called after five innings due to lightning. Zach Walters and Jack Smale had two hits each, while Brandon Meitzler added a double for the Birches.

S. Parkland-Palmerton

A big fifth inning lifted Parkland to a 10-6 victory over Palmerton in Lehigh Valley Connie Mack action.

Chase Reph was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and a walk for Palmerton, which led 6-5 heading to the fifth inning. Kaleb Eitner doubled among his two hits, added an RBI, scored a run and walked.

Lower Mac-Monarchs

A strong pitching performance from Jared Marykwas Monday helped the Carbon Monarchs gain a 3-0 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over Lower Macungie.

Marykwas tossed a six-hit shutout, walking just one while striking out 10.

Garrett Lienhard had two hits and scored a run for the winners, and Max Hoffman delivered a two-run single in the fourth inning.

The Monarchs also received a hit and an RBI from Jared Joyce, and a hit and run scored from both Randy Bongiorno and Noah Snisky.

Tanner Romig pitched well in defeat, striking out nine, and also collected two hits at the plate.
