State police at Hazleton

State police in Hazleton reported on Carbon County incidents:

• Police said on May 30 at 11:07 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Main Street, Banks Township, for a report of harassment. Troopers said Juanita Boynton, 44, of Sugar Notch, contacted a 24-year-old woman from Tresckow by phone and Facebook after being told that she was not to have any contact with the victim. Boynton was charged with harassment by communication.

Troopers said Boynton is the mother of the victim’s ex-boyfriend.

• A Carbon County man is facing charges following an incident that occurred at 8:12 a.m. on May 19.

Troopers responded to a disturbance along Brenkman Drive in Packer Township. John Anthony Cherba, 43, of Weatherly, will be charged with terroristic threats, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. The victims are a 81-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman.
