Man charged with selling methamphetamine

A Lehighton man has been charged with selling methamphetamine.

According to court papers filed by patrolman Gabe Szozda of the Lehighton Borough Police Department in the case against Eugene Moyer:

As part of an ongoing investigation into methamphetamine distribution, Szozda learned that Moyer, 45, was distributing crystal methamphetamine in the Lehighton area.

Police obtained a warrant and searched Moyer’s property in the 200 block of Held Street.

Moyer was taken into custody.

Items seized from the residence included a large amount of suspected methamphetamine; packaging material; digital scale; plastic bag containing small amount of suspected marijuana; a black Apple iPhone; two black Android cellphones and $2,222 in cash.

Moyer told police he sells meth to about five people, and has been doing it for the past several months.

Moyer faces charges of manufacture, delivery or possession with intent; unlawful possession of controlled substance; possession of marijuana; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 monetary bail, and scheduled to have a preliminary hearing June 9 before District Judge Eric M. Schrantz of Jim Thorpe.
