BOWMANSTOWN BOROUGH COUNCIL

Bowmanstown Borough Council took the following action this week:

• Announced that a public hearing for the transfer of Eating Place Liquor License that is presently issued to Pizza Como USA Uno Inc. at the Carbon Plaza Mall in Mahoning Township, to 3 Brothers Pizza, 709 Lincoln Ave., Bowmanstown, will be held at 6:30 p.m. July 6 before borough council’s regular meeting.

• On a 6-1 vote, with Darren Thomas opposed, agreed to continue with the Carbon County COG membership through the end of the year and revisit the matter in December.

• On a 6-1 vote, with Kara Scott opposed, agreed to spend $2,000 to borrow a street sweeper from Stanley Sweeper.

• Approved a proposal for the Emergency Generator 2-year agreement with Penn Power at a cost up to $1,468 per year.

• Announced that eight ADA ramps will be designed as part of the Community Development Block Grant funds from fiscal year 2019. The money has already been awarded to the borough. Locations include two ramps at the Lime Street/Ore Street intersection; two at the Ore Street/Stony Hill intersection; two at the Mill Street/Apple Street intersection; and two at the Forge Street/Apple Street intersection.

• Announced there’s been continued development of construction plans for the Craig Street Project. The preparation of bid documents and special provisions has begun.

• Agreed to stage materials (pipes, inlet boxes, sanitary facility) during the Craig Street Project by the water authority tower on Oak Street, and approved a Hold Harmless agreement at the urging of the Water Authority, pending solicitor approval.
