State police reported on the following driving under the influence cases:

• State police at the Fogelsville barracks reported Christopher M. Reese, 36, of Slatington, is facing DUI charges following a one-vehicle crash at 1:23 a.m. May 29 on Memorial Road in Lynn Township.

Police said he was driving a 2003 Dodge Dakota eastbound when he swerved to avoid striking a deer and the vehicle left the roadway, striking a mailbox, before continuing eastbound and striking a Met Ed utility pole. Police said Reese left the scene and was located at his residence, where it was determined he had been driving under the influence of alcohol.

The truck sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene. Reese was uninjured, police said.

He was also cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• State police at Lehighton said the driver of a 1993 Ford Econoline E150 that was stopped for a Motor Vehicle Code violation was found suspected to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance and will be charged accordingly.

The stop was made at 10:12 p.m. May 29 on Lehigh Drive in Palmerton.

• A 39-year-old New Ringgold man is facing DUI and drug possession charges after a traffic stop made by state police at Lehighton at 4:01 a.m. May 31 at the intersection of West Lizard Creek and Lauchnor roads in East Penn Township.

Police did not identify the driver but said he was driving a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria that was stopped for a Motor Vehicle Code violation. Police said it was determined he was suspected to be driving while under the influence of a combination of alcohol and controlled substance(s).
