Marian’s Rickert headed to King’s

Marian’s Julian Rickert will continue his academic and athletic career in the fall at King’s College.

Rickert plans on playing baseball with the Monarchs while majoring in business. Rickert received the St. Andre Bassette Scholarship from Kings.

The son of John and Tracey Rickert, Julian was a member of the Colts program for four years, two as a starter. He played catcher and first base and finished his career with a .385 batting average (25-for-65) in 38 games. He also sported a .487 on-base percentage.

This past season, Rickert hit .432 in 15 games, going 19-for-44. He collected eight doubles, scored 18 runs and finished with 12 RBIs. He also registered a .561 on-base percentage.

Besides baseball, Rickert also played football during his freshman season, and basketball in his freshman and sophomore years. An honor roll student, his other school activities include student council, S.A.D.D. and peer listening.
