Several homes and businesses in Palmerton could connect to Lower Towamensing Township’s sewer system.
Borough Manager Donna McGarry discussed the township’s sewer system with borough council on Thursday.
“The township is willing to extend the sewer main that it would come to the motorcycle shop so that those homes could connect to the main,” McGarry said. “By working with the township, it qualifies them as a (multimunicipal project).”
After the meeting, McGarry said the township is installing a main and connecting to the borough’s sewer system for their properties on Red Hill Road.
“They are willing to extend the sewer main from their border, along State Road in Palmerton, toward the Delaware Avenue intersection,” she said.
McGarry added it would affect five homes and two businesses in the borough.
“By including this work in their plan, their project can be designated as a multimunicipal project, and would qualify them for a higher loan amount from Pennvest,” she said.
