Carbon County commissioners
The Carbon County Commissioners discussed or acting on the following items:
• Approved an amendment to the management agreement between Carbon County and the Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority to operate and manage the county’s public transportation services. The amendment extends the current agreement for six months with an expiration date of Dec. 31, 2021, and the administrative service fee for the extension is $62,500.
• Approved the 2021-2022 insurance renewal with the Pennsylvania Counties Risk Pool from Jan. 1 through May 31, 2022, at a total cost of $348,095 with the payment option of 50%/50%. The final cost is subject to change based on the producer’s commission rate.
• Ratified a proposal with The Real McCoy Janitorial Professionals of Allentown for power washing the 76 Susquehanna St., building. The proposal is in the amount of $4,104.50 plus the alternate for the back of the building at a cost of $1,402.44. Work will be completed in late August or September.
• Approved an agreement with Boyle Construction Inc. of Allentown to provide construction manager services for the emergency operations and training center project. The cost for preconstruction is time and material; construction, $216,000; and post construction, $15,000.

• Resignation: Eric E. George of Albrightsville, seasonal park ranger I, effective May 23.
• Prison board appointment: Carolyn M. Steward of Lehighton, LPN, effective June 2.
• Hire as recommended by department supervisor: William J. Wilkinson of Weatherly, maintenance II, building and grounds, effective June 7.
