June 1, 1984 - Tamaqua’s George Tomchick and Marian’s Joe Dunn both come up with key interceptions to help the North gain a 0-0 tie with the South in the Schuylkill County Football Coaches Association Charity Classic, held at Tamaqua. The Blue Raiders’ Howie Miller runs six times for 29 yards and completes two passes for 54. Panther Valley’s Jeff Slivka picks up 19 yards on five carries. Other area players to compete in the contest include Marians’ Jim Malarkey, Mike Weber and Steve Luchetta; and Tamaqua’s Marc Comisac, Bill Moyer and Aaron Frantz.
