Carbon County is ready to welcome beachgoers to Mauch Chunk Lake Park.

On Thursday, Commissioner Chris Lukasevich said the park director announced that all swim areas and the beach at the park will open for the season to the public at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Earlier this month, the county reported that it had enough lifeguards to man the beaches at this time.

According to the Mauch Chunk Lake Park website, park visitation will be limited to 700 visitors each day until further notice.

The county is also still looking for additional seasonal maintenance personnel to help with park operations.
