Weatherly Area School Board has posted its first draft of the 2021-2022 budget for review.

District Business Manager Natasha Milazzo said this first version will be posted on the district website.

This early version projects revenues of $14,400,975, with expenses projected at $15,832,465. At least part of the deficit will need to be covered by drawing from the district’s fund balance.

The school board, with Milazzo’s guidance, will be “tweaking the numbers” to find savings, while also looking at boosting taxes about 1 or 2 mills. A final budget will be presented for adoption at the next meeting on June 9.

Milazzo also presented her letter of resignation. Her last day will be June 11. The district will begin to advertise the open position of business manager.
