Fern Ridge state police report on Monroe incidents

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following Monroe County incidents.

• On April 26 at 7:08 p.m. troopers were alerted to a reckless driver in the area of Shane Drive, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers located the vehicle, a 2016 Ford Mustang, with two occupants at the intersection of Timberline Trail and Lower Mountain Drive.

Police found a small amount of marijuana was inside the vehicle. The driver, Julian Gonzalez, 19, of Saylorsburg, was arrested for drug possession.

• On April 26 at 2:28 a.m. troopers on patrol along Route 209 in Chestnuthill Township saw a red 2006 Ford sedan, with headlights on and the engine running, parked on the east side of the parking lot of the Sunoco service station. A 47-year-old man from Chestnuthill Township, who troopers declined to identify, was discovered asleep in the driver’s seat. He admitted to being under the influence and was in possession of a controlled substance. He was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville for processing. Charges will be filed.

• Thomas Kram, 40, of Effort, is facing burglary charges as a result of an incident at 7 p.m., March 25 at 234 Upper Ridge Drive in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he broke the doorknob off the front door of the residence in order to get the lock box off it, and then broke open the lock box to access the key to the residence. After he unlocked the door and entered the residence, Kram was confronted by the complainant who witnessed the incident. Police said Kram shut and locked the door and fled the scene with the key.
