A driver was seriously injured Thursday evening in a crash along Route 93 just north of Nesquehoning.

The incident occurred at 5:30 p.m. as the victim appeared to be traveling south just north of the entrance to the rifle range. The pickup apparently rolled with the male driver being ejected. He was found lying on the roadway. The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics before being flown to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center. Route 93 was closed in both directions by area fire police.

State police at Hazleton are investigating the incident.
