State police report on area crashes
Area state police reported on the following incidents on area roads.:
• State police at Lehighton reported investigating an incident along Route 248 in Parryville at 4:58 p.m. May 10.
Donna M. Cifarelli, 50, of Northampton, was driving a 2015 Nissan Altima westbound when a tire fell off the bed of a truck in front of her and struck her vehicle. She was not injured. The Altima was towed.
Troopers did not identify the truck driver.
• No injuries were reported when a deer and vehicle collided along a Carbon County road over the weekend.
State police at Fern Ridge said Lisa K. Szczepaniak, 59, of Kunkletown, was driving a 2012 Nissan Rogue eastbound on Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. when a deer entered the road in front of her. She was not able to avoid the animal.
Damages were disabling to the front end of the Rogue.
State police at Frackville
State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers on Schuylkill County roadways.
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 4:32 p.m. on Monday along Route 443 in East Brunswick Township. Troopers said a 17-year-old male from Orwigsburg was operating a 1999 Toyota Camry eastbound when the vehicle left the road and collided into a tree head-on. The teen injured and flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest. The vehicle was towed.
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 10:33 p.m. on Monday along Interstate 81 in Kline Township. Troopers said Jorge L. Domena, 46, of Olyphant, Lackawanna County, was driving a 2015 Nissan Rogue northbound when a tire blew out on the front driver’s side. This caused Domena to lose control of the vehicle which went onto the berm and crashed into guide rail with the front passenger side.
Domena was not injured but the vehicle had to be towed.
