A 63-year-old Slatington woman was scammed out of a large amount of cash.

State police at Bethlehem said the woman reported on May 8 that she was contacted by someone claiming she was eligible to receive $50,000 from a grant. She was told she had to send cash to an address in Florida to receive the money. She sent the $6,000 in cash but never received any money in return.
