State police report on crashes

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two crashes.

• A crash happened on May 8 at 12:01 a.m. at the intersection of Weir Mountain Road at Frable Drive in Eldred Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said a 2010 Ford Focus operated by Kimberly C. Kutzler, 24, of Saylorsburg, struck a 2013 Chevrolet Traverse driven by Cody J. Furler, 23, of Kunkletown, in the intersection. Troopers said Kutzler failed to stop for a posted stop sign causing the crash. Kutzler sustained a suspected minor injury and was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by West End ambulance. Furler was not injured.

Kutzler was cited for the crash.

• Police reported a two-vehicle crash on May 8 at 11:17 a.m. at the intersection of Route 115 and State Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Michael P. Granahan, 33, of Tannersville, was driving a 2019 Kia Amanti southbound on 115 and making a left turn onto State Road, while Mark W. Diehl, 57, of Pocono Summit, driving a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado truck, was northbound on 115. Troopers said Granahan failed to yield the right-of-way to Diehl and his vehicle collided with the truck. Upon impact the Amanti spun around and continued west towards Jonas Road until came to final rest. The truck continued to drive off the road and onto the sidewalk where it came to rest.

No one was injured. The Amanti had to be towed.

Troopers cited Granahan for vehicle turning left.
