Dear Editor,

As everyone knows, the Lehighton Area School District is in the midst of many problems, such as overspending, and more than half of a school board unwilling to be transparent.

While searching new candidates, I have come to realize there are four who are willing to make changes for the good. They have and continue to attend school board meetings, and show a true interest in getting to the root of issues.

We need hardworking individuals who are only concerned about what is best for the students, teachers and taxpayers. The challenges we face will be difficult to overcome, but they are willing and ready to give it their all.

With that, I fully support: Joy Beers, Barb Bowes, Kerry Sittler and Walter Zlomsowitch. They are open to all questions, and are more than willing to share how they feel about the issues facing the district, when others are not.

As the May 18 primary election draws near, it is important that voters realize small elections are sometimes more important than major ones, because it might immediately affect your small community or school. I felt it was my duty as a taxpayer to show my support for those willing to make a change. A positive change. Let’s all get out and vote May 18, so come November, we can make that change a reality.
