Remodeling of the junior high school building in Jim Thorpe to convert it to elementary school use moved nearer accomplishment yesterday with approval by the State Department of Public Instruction of an estimated cost of $190,000 of the project.

Included in the estimate approved by the state are: general construction, $102,645; electrical, $9,600; heating and ventilation, $5,000; and plumbing, $10,000. The total structure cost was placed at $129,245.

The difference between this sum and the $190,000 approved by the department for financing to cover the entire cost of the work will apply to cost of fixtures and equipment, $43,000; architect’s fees, $7,755; and charges incident to construction and financing and the contingent fund.
