State police at Lehighton report on damaged mailboxes, other incidents

State police at Lehighton are investigating the following incidents:

• Acts of criminal mischief occurred along Spruce Hollow Road and Strohl Drive, in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, on May 6 about 2 a.m.

Troopers said five rural mailboxes were damaged along the roads. Damages estimates totaled $250.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.

• Troopers said on April 29 at 3:07 p.m. they investigated a possible stolen vehicle report made by a 37-year-old man from East Penn Township, Lehighton. It was determined that the incident was an unauthorized use violation and said Joshua Troxell, 39, of Lehighton, will be charged with that offense.

• Troopers also reported on April 30 at 2:43 a.m. a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue was stopped at Carbon Alley and North Second Street in Lehighton, for a vehicle code violation. The driver, a 47-year-old woman from Lehighton, who troopers declined to identify, was suspected of driving under the influence of a controlled substance. A DUI charge is pending test results.

• Troopers said a 36-year-old man from Monroe Drive, in Saylorsburg, Eldred Township, Monroe County, reported on April 25 at 11:41 a.m. that he hadn’t received a package. He was informed by United Postal Service that the package had been delivered to his home. Value of the missing items was $300.
