State police at Hazleton report on incidents

State police at Hazleton report on the following incidents:

• A Schuylkill County woman was cited twice in separate incidents in Luzerne County.

Troopers were dispatched to an area of Susquehanna Boulevard in Hazle Township at 6:15 p.m. on April 16 for a woman causing a disturbance inside a business. Troopers made contact with Christine Poore, 41, of Mahanoy City, who was irate and argumentative with troopers. She was cited for disorderly conduct.

On April 18 at 8:47 a.m. troopers on routine patrol along North Church Street in Hazle Township, in the area of 34 Street, observed Poore inside a fence surrounding the Hazleton Regional Airport.

Through an investigation it was determined that Poore had no legitimate purpose being inside the property. She told troopers she may have had a medical episode and said she spent the night within the property.

Poore was taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton Campus, for evaluation. She was cited for simple trespass.

• State police at Hazleton said a crash occurred at 12:45 p.m. on April 16 along Interstate 80 in White Haven. Troopers said Barbara A. Schlegel, 68, of Tobyhanna, was driving a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox eastbound when she slowed down due to traffic. Adam S. Borowiak, 30, of Volant, Lawrence County, driving a 1999 Honda Civic, approached from behind and was unable to slow down. The front of the Civic hit the rear of the Equinox. No one was injured with the Civic towed from the scene.

Troopers cited Borowiak for driving a vehicle at an unsafe speed.

• On April 30 at 3:12 a.m. Wayne Douglas, 34, of Drums, Luzerne County, was taken into custody in the 100 block of Berwick Street, Beaver Meadows, Carbon County, on an active arrest warrant issued out of Missouri for a probation violation. He was charged accordingly.

• On April 29 at 8:14 p.m. troopers investigated a harassment by physical contact and criminal mischief complaint along Wydra Lane, in Hollenback Township, Luzerne County. As a result Chad Harmon, 45, of Wapwallopen, was charged with harassment - physical contact. The victim was listed as a 48-year-old woman from Slatington.
