Tamaqua gained a non-league win over Mount Carmel on Saturday.

Tamaqua-Mount Carmel

Aaron Coccio’s bunt single in the sixth inning snapped a tie and Tamaqua went on to post a 5-4 non-league victory over Mount Carmel.

Lucas Schickram tripled to lead off the sixth and one out later came home on Coccio’s hit to break a 3-3 tie. Coccio eventually scored on a passed ball.

Lucas Milot had two hits and scored a run for the Blue Raiders, while Joel Schellhammer finished with a single and a double.

Coccio also earned the win in relief of Brady Miller, with Nate Wickersham pitching a scoreless seventh to gain the save.

The win lifted Tamaqua’s record to 5-10.

Shenandoah Vy.-Lehighton

A seven-run fourth inning proved to be the difference as Shenandoah Valley gained a 14-9 non-league victory over Lehighton.

The Indians rallied from an early 6-0 deficit with a four-run second inning, but they couldn’t overcome the Devils’ big fourth frame.

Ian Rarick had a single, double and triple for Lehighton. The team’s leadoff hitter scored three runs and knocked in three. Aiden Rarick and Randy Bongiorno also finished with three hits for the Tribe. Aiden crossed home three times and collected three RBIs, while Bongiorno knocked in a pair of runs.

The Indians, which dropped to 2-13, also received a hit and two runs from Michael Yeakel.

Brady Najda had four RBIs for Shenandoah, while Nick Mikita collected three hits.

Saucon Valley-No. Lehigh

Northern Lehigh’s late rally came up short as the Bulldogs dropped a 5-4 Colonial League decision to Saucon Valley.

Trailing 5-1, Chase Misera singled home a run in the fifth inning. Ryan Hammond walked and Grant Olewine singled in the seventh and the two scored on an error to pull Nolehi within a run. But the Panthers recorded the final out with a Bulldog in scoring position to gain the win.

Misera had two hits for the Bulldogs (1-17; 1-15), while Brett Misera added a hit and an RBI. Cole Hausman chipped in with a double and a run scored.

For the Panthers, Jake Albert had two hits and two RBIs.
