State police at Fern Ridge report on charges

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following incidents:

• On April 10 at 9:39 p.m., a 1989 GMC truck was stopped along McIlhaney Road at Mills Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. The driver, Louis Fenton, 35, of Tannersville, was found to be under the influence and was taken into custody and transported to the county DUI center. While in custody troopers learned that Fenton was a fugitive from justice out of Ontario County, New York, and wanted by the sheriff’s department.

• On April 30, a 35-year-old woman from Route 115, Albrightsville, Chestnuthill Township, reported that Joseph Sylvester, 26, of Pottsville, made threatening statements to her and made hand gestures as if he was shooting her in the back of her head.

Sylvester was charged for terroristic threats and related charges.

• On May 2 at 9:38 a.m., troopers stopped a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee along Interstate 80 eastbound in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County, for a motor vehicle code violation. The driver, Zameer Boodoo, 33, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, was found to be impaired and placed into custody for suspicion of DUI. Charges of DUI and other vehicle code violations were filed.

• On May 2 at 5:47 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the 100 block of Yellow Run Road in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, for a neighbor dispute. Troopers said as a result a 55-year-old woman, 53-year-old man and a 18-year-old man, all from Jim Thorpe, were cited. Troopers declined to identify the suspects.

• On April 26 at 3:11 p.m., troopers responded to 2245 Route 175, in Jackson Township, Monroe County, the Dollar General Store.

Troopers said the store management accused a 24-year-old woman from Tobyhanna, who they declined to identify, of stealing $4,156.83 in cash. The female admitted stealing the money, troopers said. Appropriate charges were filed.

• On May 1 at 1:31 a.m., troopers on patrol noticed a 2007 Ford Focus outside a business at Gilbert Road and Long Mountain Road in Chestnuthill Township, outside normal business hours. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Effort, who troopers declined to identify, was found to be under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken into custody and transported to the county prison in Snydersville for processing. Charges are pending test results.

• A 29-year-old Effort woman is facing two counts of harassment after police were summoned to a domestic case at 10:37 p.m. April 15 along Fisher Lane in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said their investigation revealed the woman and a 63-year-old woman, also from Effort, became involved in an argument in regards to issues over a 16-year-old Effort girl’s homework. Police said the altercation escalated until the younger woman pushed the older woman to the ground and slapped the teen in the face.

Police said all of the parties declined emergency medical services treatment.

• Police reported citations following a domestic incident.

On May 2 at 12:55 p.m., troopers responded to a residence in the 1100 block Silver Maple Road West, in Chestnuthill Township, for a report of an active domestic dispute.

Further investigation revealed that Erisker Peraza-Morales, 36, of Effort, and Jose Garcia, 33, of Allentown, engaged in a verbal dispute that turned physical. Both were cited for harassment - physical contact.
