2 charged with possession of heroin

Two Lehighton area residents have been charged with possession of heroin following a traffic stop.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Bradley Emerick of the Pennsylvania State Police Lehighton barracks in the case against Guy Frehulfer and Alison Serfass.

At 7:30 p.m. April 23, police conducted a traffic stop on the pickup at the 100 block of N. Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard, Lehighton.

Police asked Frehulfer, 66, of Weissport, for the passengers’ names and date of birth so they could be identified. The passengers got out of the car and started to wander around.

Emerick then asked the passengers to sit on his patrol vehicle’s bumper. They ran from the area, and after a short foot pursuit, Serfass, 36, of Lehighton, was taken into custody.

Serfass was put in the patrol vehicle, and while handcuffed behind her back, she ran from the patrol vehicle.

After a short pursuit, Serfass was taken back into custody.

While interviewing Serfass, Frehulfer approached his patrol vehicle and Emerick told him to leave.

Troopers then continued the investigation in the 400 block of White Street in Weissport to attempt to contact the male passenger and Frehulfer.

Troopers conducted an interview with a woman at the residence who said that Frehulfer gave Serfass about 30 bricks of heroin to hide in her body.

The drugs were weighed, which yielded about 64 grams of raw heroin and other drug paraphernalia.

Serfass was transported to Lehighton Hospital for suspected minor head injuries. While at the hospital, Serfass was in possession of other drug paraphernalia.

Police noticed Frehulfer had signs of being under the influence, but he refused a blood test.
