More than $4,400 was raised on this date to help children of Dream Come True, Blue Ridge Chapter, during the PaddleFEST celebration held at the Mauch Chunk Lake Park, Jim Thorpe.

The event, sponsored by 12 local businesses, brought together outfitters who provided boats for paddlers who are interested in learning the safety regulations and operating procedures for kayaking on local waters.

A total of 219 people participated in the event. Dream Come True will utilize the funds to help fulfill the wishes of sick children in Carbon County and its surrounding areas.

The event was coordinated by Dream Come True chapter member Gail Maholick.
