I’m Walter Wally Zlomsowitch and I am asking for your support for Lehighton school board on May 18 as I want to give back to the community that has supported me and my business for more than 22 years. I was born and raised in Lehighton/Mahoning Township. I have an adult daughter that lives in the district with two grandkids. I also have a son at home and a stepdaughter that attends LEC. Family and friends are very important to me. I have been blessed with many.

In 1998 I started K and K Oil Co., building a business with many employees over the years. I owned many LLCs over the last 20-plus years, many reviving failed businesses. I bought a car wash out of bankruptcy and made it profitable and sold it to a family with the passion for the car wash business. I was in a partnership owning 30-plus rental units and managed the properties dealing with tenant issues and resolving them to the satisfaction of tenant. I rehabbed a farm house in Mahoning Township that was foreclosed and sold it to a family that fell in love with it.

I have been in the bar and restaurant business. My latest success was Maggie’s Kitchen. When Maggie retired, two other families tried to make a go of it. It closed and was days from being torn down and turned into a parking lot for trucks. I felt it was such an asset to the area I had to save it and did just that. The community has overwhelmingly supported the West Penn Diner. I have been blessed with some of the best employees one could find.

If elected as a director, I will do all I can to bring back financial responsibility, protect our students, work with our teachers and always be honest and approachable to the community. We have serious financial issues and I would like to save the district as I did many other projects. Thank you for your support, and together we can make our district whole again.
