I’m Kerry Sittler and I would like your support for Lehighton Area School District school board. Raised in Lehighton, I graduated from LAHS. Spent four years in Providence, Rhode Island, and obtained a BS in management and AS in recreation and leisure management; have an AA in liberal arts from LCC, AS in registered nursing from NCC; 10 years experience in food and beverage management, 19 years as a geriatric/rehab RN.

Three things I’ve learned in sales that I still live by to this day: 1.) NEVER mess with someone else’s money; 2.) NO money, NO funny; 3.) Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

I’m proud of my charity work. I was as a Big Sister, mentoring inner city kids from Fall River, Massachusetts; tutored inner city kids in Providence, Rhode Island; Was an active PTO member for Mahoning Elementary, helped out on events for LEC PTO and LMS PTO. I’m the fundraising coordinator for Keystone Karate. Volunteered as Booster Club assistant track coach for multiple years. I’m most proud of my Feed a Family a Meal charity that I started three years ago. It started as me giving a full Thanksgiving meal to a family in need and has grown to giving multiple families in need at Thanksgiving, and Christmas meal with extra food, gift cards, presents and cash to help them have a better holiday. During Easter we were able to give 13 displaced fire victims food, gift cards, Easter baskets, cash, and clothing.

This year the world was shaken by the pandemic. I am proud to say I am a nursing home nurse who continually has worked throughout the pandemic. We were able to save many lives but unfortunately we lost many lives, too. This has been one of the hardest and scariest years of my life but I never quit!

If elected to the school board I will never quit on my community! I will fight hard and use all of my experiences to get us back on track as a sustainable, fiscally sound and morally responsible district.
