Schuylkill businesses cited for liquor violations

Several Schuylkill County businesses have been cited by the state police liquor control board enforcement office in Allentown for violating state liquor control board rules.

• Sava G. Logothetides, trading as Wheel Restaurant, 123 E. Broad St., Tamaqua, was cited for failing to have a board-approved manager complete sever training within 180 days of the board’s approval of the appointment during the period of Feb. 16 through March 16.

• Michael L. Thomas, trading as Club 54, 100-102 W. Centre St., Mahanoy City, was cited for several violations including during the period of July 1, 2020, through Feb. 20, permitted other people to operate a business on the licensed premises.

The business was also cited on Jan. 7, 10, 22, Feb. 20 and March 5, for violating the governor’s and secretary of health mandates concerning the COVID-19 emergency concerning the wearing of protective masks by patrons, employees and allowing patrons to sit at the bar and sold/or furnished alcohol to a patron of on-premise consumption in a transaction that did not include a meal.

• Hot Rod Bar and Grill LLC, 15-17-19 Front St., Cressona, cited for violating the mandates concerning mask wearing by patrons and employees on Feb. 13, 27 and 28.

• Rosie’s Tavern & Grill Inc., 22 Coal St., Middleport, cited for violating the mandates concerning mask wearing by patrons and employees on March 6 and April 2.

• Christopher R. Yerger, trading as Still Playing and Burns Rush Restaurant and Pub, 655 Route 61, Orwigsburg, for violating the mandates concerning mask wearing by patrons and employees on April 2 and 3.

These charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. In addition, the judge can impose a license suspension or revocation based on the severity of the charge brought.
