National Day of Prayer set

Two observances are planned for the May 6 National Day of Prayer in Tamaqua.

An in-person gathering will take place at 10 a.m. in the Trinity United Church of Christ parking lot at 22 Lafayette Street. Pastor Darryl Kensinger will lead the prayers at the lot overlooking Tamaqua’s Five Points.

Participants are asked to wear masks and observe social distancing.

Pastor Kevin Roberts of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church will observe the day of prayer on his “Lunchtime Live” 12:30 p.m. webcast on Bethany’s Facebook page.

In the past, the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network has hosted a community Prayer Breakfast prior to the prayer gathering, but for the second year the pandemic has led to limited observances.
