Monroe County Salary Board approved 17 new hires at its recent meeting.
All new hires start at the minimum union wage, according to Bonnie Ace-Sattur, the human resources director at the courthouse.
• Assessment, one employed at $26,323 annually; Children and Youth, two employed at $35,360/year; Career Link, two employed at 31,344.98/year; Conservation, three employed, two at $10.4097/hour and a supervisor at $10.9241/hour; Court Administration, one employment at $26,845.57/year.
• Fiscal hired two temporary office assistants through the Pennsylvania Emergency Rental Aid Program to help process the applications for people seeking rental assistance. One position is for 16 hours a week and the second position is for 11.5 hours a week. Both pay $13.4993 an hour.
• Monroe County Correctional Facility rehired a temporary custodian at $10.9241/hour; Judge Higgins, new hire/replacement at $39,112.20/year, Police Department, new hire/replacement at $27.059.13/year.
• Prothonotary, new hire/replacement at $25,284.49/year; Tax Claim, two new hires/replacements at $25,514.42/year.
• Seventeen separations were approved by the Salary Board: 10 employees resigned, five employees retired, one employee nonretained, and one employee was separated.
