May 3, 1983 - Tamaqua records a sweep of Pottsville in a rain-shortened meet to keep both Blue Raider teams undefeated. Dave Keich and Jim Bauzon each win three events as the boys gain an 82-36 victory. Keich captures the 300 hurdles, long jump and high jump. His time of 39.3 in the hurdles sets a new school record, stadium record, and all-time TN record. Bauzon claims all three throwing events (shot, discus, javelin), while John Appicello wins the 1600 and 3200. Lori Lawson also wins the 1600 and 3200 in the girls meet as Tamaqua registers a 70-30 victory.
